Any solution below a pH 7 is said to be acidic in nature and is considered an acid. A solution with a pH above 7 is said to be basic, or alkaline in nature and is considered a base. The Body’s Alkaline pH Level
Depending on who you ask, the human body is comprised of roughly %75 – %80 water. As stated before, water has a pH level of 7. Pure water is neutral. Our blood’s optimal pH level falls between 7.35 – 7.5. This means our blood is slightly alkaline. As we live our lives, this pH level fluctuates. The foods we eat, the toxins we encounter daily, the amount of water we drink, and even our stress levels, all have an effect on our body’s pH level.
The key to a healthy body is in maintaining our blood’s optimized pH level. If our blood’s pH falls out of balance, our body does have the ability to defend itself.
